TP-Link Archer MR6400: The Router for Everyday Use
The MR6400 is the workhorse among LTE routers. It skips expensive bells and whistles and focuses on the essentials: Providing a stable internet connection via SIM card.
It is the perfect choice if DSL is too slow or you need immediate internet for multiple users at a temporary location (e.g., construction site container, holiday apartment).
Four Ports for Your Hardware
While entry-level routers often skimp on ports, the MR6400 offers four LAN ports.
This is crucial if you want to connect not just WiFi devices but also stationary equipment like a desktop PC, a network printer, or a POS system reliably via cable.
WiFi Range & Antennas
The router operates on the 2.4 GHz band (N300). While not as fast as 5 GHz, it physically offers better range and wall penetration.
For LTE reception, it uses two detachable antennas on the back. If the mobile signal is weak, you can simply unscrew them and connect an external antenna (SMA standard) mounted outside on a window or roof.
