The router should be configured to require manual registration for new devices attempting to join the network, making it more challenging for hackers to infiltrate the WiFi network.

The range of a WiFi USB adapter is significantly influenced by external factors and the WiFi standard used, similar to a router. If there are significant obstacles in the home, they should be removed, or a WiFi repeater can be used. Alternatively, a WiFi USB adapter with an external antenna or housing can address this issue. The latter can be better positioned, leading to a noticeable increase in range.

If there is no connection or a secure connection to the wireless network despite using a WiFi USB stick, it may be due to insufficient range, a low WiFi standard, or potential damage to the stick. External antennas, even without visible damage, can be quite susceptible. Investing in devices from reputable manufacturers is usually worthwhile, as they undergo better processing and quality assurance, often resulting in greater durability. Quality WiFi USB sticks are typically better equipped and support higher WiFi standards, allowing for significantly higher transmission rates when combined with a corresponding WiFi router.
