5 GHz Directional Antennas

5 GHz Directional WiFi Antennas: A directional antenna bundles the signal to a small opening angle during operation. This means that only a very small area is illuminated with the signal, but this is intensively and with a long range. A directional antenna is therefore very suitable for so-called point-to-point connections (also known as WiFi bridge) or point-to-multipoint over long distances.

In principal: The higher the performance gain of a WiFi antenna (specified in dBi), the higher the range. The smaller the signal opening angle, the more concentrated the WiFi signal. It is always advisable to mount WiFi antennas with as clear a field of view if possible. This usually leads to a stable, reliable WiFi connection
