The Teltonika RUT271 is the 5G RedCap variant of the popular RUT241. Equipped with a CAT4 LTE modem, it provides the reliable performance of the RUT241 while also supporting IoT (Internet of Things) connections via 5G RedCap.
5G RedCap, short for "Reduced Capability," is a specialized variant of 5G technology developed specifically for the Internet of Things (IoT). Unlike high-performance 5G networks designed for maximum data rates and minimal latency, 5G RedCap strikes an optimal balance between performance and energy efficiency. Many IoT devices, such as sensors, wearables, or industrial control systems, require a reliable and stable connection but do not need gigabit-level data transfer speeds. Until now, these devices have often connected via 4G, LTE-M, or NB-IoT. 5G RedCap fills this gap, offering advantages over LTE-M or NB-IoT, including higher data rates, lower latency, and reduced energy consumption. At the same time, 5G RedCap represents a future-proof advancement for mobile communications technology and IoT.
The RUT271 also converts the received 5G RedCap or LTE signal into its own Wi-Fi network. Wired components can also be connected via LAN. The two SMA antenna connectors allow for an external 5G / LTE antenna connection.
The RUT271 is easy to set up and configure through the user-friendly web interface. Its robust aluminum casing, solid technology, and mature firmware provide consistent performance and high durability.
