Wi-Fi 6 Performance for Demanding Networks
The Ubiquiti UniFi U6+ is more than just an upgrade – it's your entry into the next generation of wireless connectivity. As a powerful WiFi 6 Access Point, it was specifically designed to deliver a stable and fast connection even in high-density device environments. Whether in a busy office, home office, or public areas: With a capacity for over 300 clients and an aggregated data rate of almost 3 Gbps, the U6+ ensures that lags and connection drops are a thing of the past. Thanks to features like OFDMA, it intelligently divides channels to maximize efficiency for all connected devices.
Seamless Integration into the UniFi Ecosystem
The true strength of the U6+ unfolds in conjunction with the UniFi Network Controller. This free and powerful software gives you full control over your Network. Configuration is a breeze: you can set up the Ubiquiti U6+ in the UniFi Controller, create guest networks with isolated traffic, assign VLANs, and monitor the performance of each individual client in real-time. Planning a larger Network? Multiple UniFi Access Points like the U6+ work seamlessly together and enable uninterrupted transitions thanks to Fast Roaming as you move through the building. This way, you build a scalable and professional WiFi Network that grows with your requirements.
Thoughtful Design & Easy Installation
Ubiquiti has thought of everything with the U6+. The compact and elegant polycarbonate and aluminum housing blends discreetly into any ceiling or wall installation. The highlight is the Power Supply: thanks to support for the standardized 802.3af PoE standard, you only need a single Ethernet Cable that provides both data connection and power. This makes installation clean, flexible, and straightforward, as you don't need an outlet near the mounting location. The included Mounting Systems make getting started immediately possible.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Do I need a special Router for the Ubiquiti U6+?
Yes, you need a Router to connect to the internet and manage IP addresses in your Network. The U6+ is purely a WiFi Access Point and only extends the WiFi. It can be operated with any standard WiFi Router, but it unfolds its full potential in conjunction with other devices from the Ubiquiti UniFi ecosystem, such as UniFi Access Points or a UniFi Switch.
What is the main difference between the U6+ and the U6-Lite?
The U6+ is the successor to the U6-Lite and offers a higher overall throughput rate, especially in the 5 GHz Components band (2402 Mbps vs. 1201 Mbps) through the support of 160 MHz channels. It also has slightly higher Antenna gain, potentially leading to better coverage for your WiFi Network.
Can I operate the U6+ without a PoE Switch?
Yes, that is possible. If your existing Ethernet Switch does not support PoE (Power over Ethernet), you can use a PoE Injector. This is connected between the Ethernet Switch and the WiFi Access Point and supplies power to the U6+ via the Ethernet Cables. You need an Injector that supports the 802.3af standard.
Is the U6+ sufficient for a single-family home?
For smaller homes or apartments, a centrally positioned U6+ can be sufficient, as it can cover an area of up to 140 m². However, in larger or multi-story homes, especially with solid walls, it is advisable to install two or more WiFi Access Points to ensure seamless Network coverage.
What does '2x2 MIMO' mean?
2x2 MIMO (Multiple Input, Multiple Output) means that the WiFi Access Point has two transmitting and two receiving Antennas. This allows it to send and receive two separate data streams simultaneously, which increases the efficiency and data throughput of the WiFi Network compared to devices with only one Antenna.
Do I have to pay for the UniFi Controller Software?
No, the UniFi Network Controller Software is generally free. You can install it on your own hardware (Windows, macOS, Linux). Costs only apply if you opt for a dedicated hardware solution from Ubiquiti Networks, such as a UniFi Dream Machine or a UniFi Cloud Key, to manage your Network.
