Your Network Command Center: The UniFi Dream Machine SE
No more device clutter in your Network cabinet. The Ubiquiti UDM SE is the ultimate all-in-one solution that elevates your Network to a new level. It was developed for demanding home users and small businesses who do not want to compromise on performance, security, and control. Whether you want to operate a UniFi Dream Machine SE with a 10Gbit fiber optic connection, equip your office with PoE devices, or monitor your property with UniFi Protect – this console is the heart of your entire UniFi ecosystem.
Built for Speed and Security
With a 10G SFP+ and a 2.5GbE RJ45 WAN port, you are equipped for the fastest internet connections of today and tomorrow. The Dual-WAN capability ensures maximum reliability through failover or load balancing. Inside, a powerful Quad-Core processor enables an impressive IDS/IPS throughput of 3.5 Gbit/s. This way, you protect your Network with Deep Packet Inspection and advanced threat defense, without compromising speed. The UDM-SE is more than just a UniFi router; it is your personal Security Gateway.
PoE, Protect, and Full Control in One Device
Radically simplify your installations. The eight integrated Gigabit LAN ports, six of which are PoE and two PoE+, directly power your UniFi Access Points, Cameras, and phones. This saves space, Cabling, and additional hardware. Thanks to the integrated 3.5-inch hard drive bay and the 128 GB SSD, the UDM-SE becomes a full-fledged UniFi Dream Machine Special Edition as an NVR solution. Manage your video recordings centrally and access them securely at any time – all via the intuitive UniFi OS interface, which serves as a central UniFi OS Console for all your devices.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Can the UDM-SE completely replace a Fritz!Box?
Yes, in most cases. The UDM-SE takes over the functions of a Router, Firewall, and Ethernet Switch. However, for internet access via a DSL connection, a separate DSL / VDSL Router (modem) is still required, which is placed in front of the UDM-SE. For fiber optic connections, it can often be connected directly to the fiber optic modem (ONT).
Do I need a Cloud Key when using the UDM-SE?
No. The UDM-SE is a UniFi OS Console, meaning the UniFi Network Controller Software is already integrated. It therefore completely replaces an external Cloud Key or a controller running on a server, streamlining your Network management.
What hard drive size is recommended for the NVR bay?
The UDM-SE supports 3.5-inch SATA hard drives. The recommended size depends on the number of IP Cameras or Other Cameras and the desired recording duration. For several IP Cameras and 1-2 weeks of storage, capacities of 8 TB or more are common. Ubiquiti Networks recommends HDDs designed for continuous operation, especially for UniFi Protect.
Is the UDM-SE oversized for a pure home Network?
That depends on the requirements. For a standard household, it might be oversized. However, for tech-savvy home users, small businesses, or households with high demands on Network security, VLANs, VPN, and video surveillance (UniFi Protect), it is an excellent and future-proof choice for your Network infrastructure.
What is the main difference between the UDM-SE and the UDM-Pro?
The UDM-SE is an evolution of the UDM-Pro. The main differences are: a 2.5GbE WAN-Port (instead of 1GbE), integrated PoE Injectors / Power Supplies (PoE/PoE+) on the 8 LAN-ports (which the Pro lacks), and a built-in 128 GB SSD to accelerate the operating system, enhancing overall Network performance.
Can I mount the UDM-SE without a rack?
Yes. Although it is designed for 1U 19-Inch Racks mounting, it can also be safely placed on a flat surface, such as a shelf or desk, thanks to the included rubber feet. This offers flexibility in Mounting Systems.
