Ubiquiti UDM-Pro: The Heart of Your Network
The Dream Machine Pro has revolutionized the market for network hardware. It offers enterprise features at a price point affordable for small businesses and home labs.
It replaces the Cloud Key, the old USG gateway, and additionally offers space for a hard drive for video surveillance.
Difference to UDM-SE (Special Edition)
The UDM-Pro is the base model. It is the right choice for you if: 1. You already own a separate PoE switch (because the UDM-Pro switch has no PoE). 2. Your internet connection via copper cable is not faster than 1 Gbps (or you use fiber directly via SFP+ module). 3. You can do without the integrated SSD (system boots slightly slower than SE, but runs stably).
Security and Performance
Despite the lower price, the UDM-Pro makes no compromises on security. The Quad-Core processor handles Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) and Intrusion Prevention (IPS) with a throughput of 3.5 Gbps.
Via the 10G SFP+ LAN Port, you can connect your main switch (e.g., USW-Pro-24) without bottlenecks.
