Ubiquiti U6-IW: WiFi, Switch, and Power Combined
Often, offices or TV consoles only have a single network outlet in the wall. But that's not enough for the TV, console, phone, and laptop.
The U6-IW (In-Wall) solves this problem elegantly. It mounts directly *over* the outlet, delivers high-end WiFi 6 to the entire room, and splits the single cable connection into four Gigabit ports.
4x4 MIMO: Massive Performance
Don't let the size fool you. Technically, this wall AP packs almost the same power as the large U6-Pro.
It utilizes 4x4 MIMO technology in the 5 GHz band. This means: It has extremely strong reception and handles hundreds of concurrent clients with ease. With 5.3 Gbps total throughput, it is absolutely future-proof.
The PoE Feature (Passthrough)
A brilliant detail for pros: The first of the four LAN ports can pass power through (PoE Passthrough).
If you power the U6-IW with a PoE++ (802.3bt) switch, it can power a connected device (e.g., a UniFi Protect camera or VoIP phone) directly on Port 1. This saves power adapters and reduces cable clutter.
(Note: When powered by standard PoE+, the AP works, but passthrough is disabled.)
