The Principle of the Directional Antenna

Omnidirectional (omni) antennas distribute their signal circularly in all directions. But if your gateway or Helium miner is located on the edge of town, on a hillside, or on the exterior wall of a building, an omni antenna would blast half of your transmission power uselessly into the forest, the mountain, or the brick wall. This is where the Interline PANEL 8 SL comes into play. As a directional antenna, it focuses the 8dBi power forward like a spotlight (70° beamwidth). This allows you to illuminate your IoT network exactly where the sensors and nodes are located.

Slant Polarization: The Savior Against Obstacles

In reality, there is almost never a clear line of sight between the transmitter and receiver. This NLOS (Non-Line-of-Sight) scenario is the enemy of any wireless network. Signals bounce off walls, get refracted, and scattered. During this process, the polarization of the radio waves often "twists." A normal, purely vertical antenna can hardly read these twisted signals. The PANEL 8 SL uses a slant polarization (polarization diversity). It is designed to cleanly catch exactly these "echoes" reflected off obstacles. The result: Fewer packet losses and a much more stable connection in urban canyons!

Compact and Extremely Robust (IP67)

The casing of the directional antenna measures just 22.3 x 22.3 cm and blends in unobtrusively on any building facade or antenna mast. The UV-resistant plastic is IP67 certified, making it absolutely dustproof and even protected against temporary submersion – heavy rain doesn't stand a chance here! The standardized N Female connector is located on the back. A tiltable mounting bracket for perfect alignment on the mast is already included in the package.
