Your Stable Network Bridge over 15 km
No more slow connections or expensive cable installations. With the Ubiquiti NanoStation M5 Link Set, you effortlessly extend your Network over long distances. Whether you want to bring internet to your garden shed, connect two company buildings, or link an IP Camera in a remote location – this pre-configured WiFi Bridge Set is the answer. The two units operate as a transparent Layer 2 bridge. This means for you: connect them, align them, and it feels as if you've simply laid a very, very long Ethernet Cable. It couldn't be simpler.
airMAX Technology: Say Goodbye to WiFi Interference
Traditional WiFi quickly reaches its limits over long distances. Not so the NanoStation M5. It uses Ubiquiti's intelligent airMAX TDMA protocol. Instead of all devices transmitting chaotically, the technology assigns fixed time slots to each device for sending and receiving. This prevents data collisions, maximizes efficiency, and ensures an extremely stable connection with low latency. This is especially important if you rely on a dependable connection for IP Cameras, VoIP telephony, or fast data access.
Ingenious PoE Passthrough: Power for Your IP Camera
An often-overlooked but crucial feature is the second Ethernet Port with PoE Passthrough. Imagine mounting the NanoStation M5 on a pole to connect your workshop. Exactly on this pole, you also want to install an IP Camera for surveillance. No problem! You power the NanoStation via the included PoE Power Supply and activate the PoE output on the second port via software. Now you can connect your camera directly there, and it will be powered by the NanoStation. One cable, two devices – that's smart Network technology.
Robust for Any Weather: Outdoor Installation
The NanoStation M5 is not a fair-weather device. It was developed from the ground up for tough outdoor use. The UV-stabilized plastic housing withstands years of sun exposure without becoming brittle. Rain, snow, and extreme temperatures from -30°C to +75°C cannot harm it. Thanks to its compact design and integrated Antenna, it offers little surface area for wind to attack. With the included cable ties, pole mounting is quickly done, so your WiFi Bridge for long distances is ready for use in no time.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Do I really need a completely clear line of sight for a connection over several kilometers?
Yes, absolutely! For a stable and fast Network connection, a 100% clear line of sight is essential. Remember that not only buildings but also trees can be in the way. For the best performance, the area between your two NanoStations, known as the Fresnel zone, must be completely free of obstacles.
Can I directly power my IP Camera with the second LAN port?
Absolutely, that's one of the coolest features! You simply activate PoE-Passthrough in the software, and you can power your PoE-enabled IP Camera directly via the NanoStation. A small tip: For this function, we recommend a stronger 24V, 1A PoE Injector, as the included adapter might not be sufficient.
Why is my data throughput much slower than expected?
There can be several reasons for this. First, check the alignment of your two NanoStations – even a tiny deviation can significantly impair performance. Second, remember that the LAN ports are limited to 100 Mbps. Third, use the built-in airView tool to find interference and switch to a clear wireless channel. That often works wonders!
How do I access the web interface to configure the set?
It's simple: Connect a NanoStation to your PC via the PoE Adapter. Assign your computer a static IP address, for example, 192.168.1.100. Then, open your browser and enter the address `https://192.168.1.20`. The default login is `ubnt` for the username and `ubnt` for the password.
Is the NanoStation M5 Set suitable for online gaming or 4K streaming?
For gaming, this set is excellent! The connection is super stable and has low latency (ping), which you'll love when gaming. For 4K streaming, the 100 Mbps Ethernet connection might reach its limits with very data-intensive films. However, HD streams and most 4K content will run absolutely smoothly.
What do the 'Access Point WDS' and 'Station WDS' modes mean?
Think of them as a transmitter and receiver. You set one NanoStation to 'Access Point WDS' – this is your transmitter, connected to your main router. The second one, at the other building, you set to 'Station WDS' – this is your receiver. Together, they form an invisible, direct WiFi Bridge, as if you had laid a long Ethernet Cable.
