LWO-SFP-85-SX: The Short-Distance Sprinter
If you need to connect switches within a building or in the same server rack, Singlemode modules are often overkill and too expensive.
This is where the LWO-SFP-85-SX comes in. It uses affordable 850nm technology, making it the worldwide standard for in-house Gigabit connections.
Multimode Explained
This module works only with Multimode cables. You can usually recognize them by color:
* Orange (OM2): Range approx. 275m.
* Aqua/Turquoise (OM3): Range up to 550m.
* Violet (OM4): Range up to 550m (but more future-proof).
It uses an LC Duplex connector. This means you plug in a cable with two connectors (one sends, one receives).
Universally Applicable
Whether you are connecting a Ubiquiti EdgeSwitch to a MikroTik router or linking your server via fiber: As long as the slot accepts "SFP" (1G) and is not vendor-locked (like some HP/Cisco models), this Lightwin module works immediately.
