Ubiquiti UACC-CM-RJ45-1G: The Joker for Your Switch
You know the problem: You bought a cool switch (e.g., UniFi Switch 24 PoE or a Dream Machine Pro), and suddenly all normal network ports are occupied. But on the far right, those empty slots (SFP) are still yawning at you.
With the UACC-CM-RJ45-1G, you wake these ports up. It's a transceiver module that "translates" the SFP slot so you can plug in a normal copper network cable.
Why Copper Instead of Fiber?
Normally, SFP ports are intended for fiber optic cables. But in home networks or small offices, there are often no fiber lines laid out.
This module is the bridge. It allows you to connect servers, printers, uplinks to other switches, or simply the PC in the next room to the SFP port using existing network cabling.
Technical Performance
The module is trimmed for reliability. It delivers 1 Gbps (Gigabit) speed. It's ideal for connecting devices that don't need 10G power but require stability.
Installation is "Hot-Swappable": You can plug the module in while the switch is running. It is recognized immediately (provided the port is set to 1G or Auto-Negotiation).
