Often, a home network or video surveillance system needs to be installed in places that offer extremely little space – above a door, in a narrow hallway, or in a tiny utility room. A classic server cabinet would be a massive obstruction here. The EXTRALINK 6U equipment cabinet (EX.7225) was designed precisely for these hard cases. With its extremely reduced depth of only 450 mm, it is visually unobtrusive but easily holds a classic basic setup consisting of a patch panel, switch, and router. Tip: When selecting your switches, make sure they are suitable for shallow enclosures.
Safely Under Lock and Key
Despite its compact size, this cabinet makes no compromises on security. The tempered glass front door and the side panels are equipped with locks so no one can accidentally pull cables or manipulate settings. During installation, you benefit from the completely removable side panels, giving you convenient access from three sides. A practical cable entry in the roof panel ensures neat routing of your installation cables.
Active Cooling and Flat-Pack Advantage
To ensure your router and switch don't overheat even in this small enclosure, the roof panel is already prepared for the installation of two active case fans. Another huge plus is the logistics: The cabinet is delivered as an unassembled kit in a handy flat-pack. You don't have to rely on expensive freight forwarders and can easily carry the compact package by yourself. Assembly is logically structured and completed in just a few minutes!
