Ubiquiti AM-2G16-90: When Trees Get in the Way
5 GHz is fast, but sensitive. A single tree in the line of sight can kill the signal.
The AM-2G16-90 utilizes the more robust 2.4 GHz band. The longer radio waves "bend" better around obstacles and penetrate foliage more easily. This makes this antenna the first choice for WISPs needing to serve customers in wooded or slightly obstructed areas.
Maximum Transmission Power
With 16 dBi gain, you get the physical maximum out of a 2.4 GHz sector antenna of this size.
The beamwidth of 90 degrees allows you to build professional 4-sector towers. This means: Four Rocket M2 radios each serve one quarter of the perimeter. This maximizes capacity as the load is distributed across four devices.
2x2 MIMO Technology
The antenna uses horizontal and vertical polarization simultaneously. This doubles data throughput compared to old Wi-Fi antennas and makes the connection more stable against interference.
