Ubiquiti AM-5G19-120: The Spotlight Instead of the Lightbulb
While an Omni antenna radiates like a lightbulb in all directions (and "wastes" energy doing so), the AM-5G19-120 works like a spotlight.
It focuses the transmit power onto a 120-degree angle. This gives you two advantages:
1. Range: You reach significantly further with 19 dBi than with an omni.
2. Less Noise: The antenna only "hears" signals from its 120° sector and blocks out interference from behind.
The Cluster Concept
Professionals often use this antenna in a pack of three. Three units are mounted on a mast (3x 120° = 360° coverage).
The Advantage: You now have three Rocket radios in operation. This triples the number of clients you can serve and the available bandwidth. This is the standard for WISP towers.
Plug & Play Mounting
The antenna comes with a robust bracket that allows for tilt adjustment to optimally align the sector with the target area. The Ubiquiti Rocket simply clicks into the back and connects with the included cables. A protective shroud covers the connections, making them weatherproof.
