Ubiquiti AMO-5G10: The Compact All-Rounder
The "strongest" antenna isn't always the best. If you want to cover a campground or a corporate campus, receivers are often close to the mast. An antenna with extremely high gain focuses the signal so flatly that it simply beams over the heads of nearby users ("donut effect").
This is where the AMO-5G10 comes in.
Why 10 dBi is Often Better
With 10 dBi gain, this antenna is still very powerful but opens the signal beam vertically to 12 degrees (for comparison: the larger 13 dBi version has only 7 degrees).
This means: You cover a larger height range. This is ideal if:
* The antenna is not mounted extremely high.
* The clients are very close to the base station.
* The terrain is uneven.
Plug & Play with Rocket
As with all airMAX Omni antennas, the ingenious mounting concept applies here too: The antenna has a mount on the back into which you simply click a Ubiquiti Rocket (M5, 5AC Lite, Prism, etc.). Connect the two included weatherproof cables, and your base station is ready to go. No separate coax cables, no extra box, no stress.
