Ubiquiti UXG-Lite: The Power Update for Your USG
For years, the USG (the little white box with 3 ports) was the standard in many UniFi setups. But with faster internet speeds, it reached its limits.
The UXG-Lite (Gateway Lite) solves this problem once and for all. It looks similarly compact but has a completely new heart (Dual-Core ARM CPU).
Gigabit with Full Security
The killer feature is performance: While the old USG throttled throughput to approx. 85 Mbps when "Intrusion Prevention" (IPS) was activated, the UXG-Lite manages full 1 Gbps routing performance with all security features.
Finally, you can fully utilize your fiber or gigabit cable connection and still remain protected by Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) and firewall.
Difference to UniFi Express (UX)?
This is the most common question. * UXG-Lite: Is a pure gateway. It strictly requires an external controller (e.g., Cloud Key Gen2 Plus, UCK-G2, or Self-Hosted Server). Perfect if you already have a controller and just want to swap the old router. * UniFi Express (UX): Has the controller and WiFi built-in.
