Ubiquiti POE-48-24W: The 48V Standard
While most airMAX antennas run on 24V, many products from the UniFi series or the EdgeMAX line require 48 Volts.
The POE-48-24W is the standard power supply for these requirements. It delivers 24 Watts of power at 0.5 Amps.
The Advantage of 48 Volts
Physical fact: The higher the voltage, the lower the current flow for the same power. This means less heat generation in the cable and less voltage drop.
If you need to power a device over 80 or 90 meters of Ethernet cable, a 48V system is often more stable than a 24V system.

Better Safe Than Sorry
Like all Ubiquiti power supplies, this model features a ground connection on the RJ45 jack. In combination with shielded cables (FTP), dangerous ESD voltages are diverted before they damage your hardware.
