Lossless Zoom Meets Crystal-Clear 4K UHD
The UniFi G6 PRO Turret doesn't just deliver images; it delivers evidence. With its native 4K resolution, no detail will escape you. But its true strength lies in the motorized 2.36x optical zoom. Unlike digital zoom, which only magnifies an image section and loses quality, here the lens physically adjusts the focus. This allows you to set the perfect image section for your driveway, entrance area, or checkout after installation, while maintaining full 8-megapixel resolution. This is professional surveillance that makes a difference.
When Night Turns to Day: The Gigantic 1/1.2' Sensor
Conventional cameras switch to a grainy black-and-white mode at the slightest twilight. The G6 PRO Turret plays in a completely different league. Its exceptionally large 1/1.2' CMOS sensor is extremely light-sensitive. In combination with the fast ƒ/1.5 aperture, it captures astonishingly clear and detailed color images even in very poor lighting conditions. Only when it is absolutely dark does the camera switch to its powerful adaptive IR night vision, which has a range of up to 40 meters and ensures clear visibility.
Intelligence On Board: Precise Detection Without Cloud Dependency
Forget constant false alarms from swaying branches or stray cats. The G6 PRO Turret features a dedicated multi-TOPS AI engine directly on the device. This powerful hardware enables highly advanced real-time analysis. The camera reliably distinguishes between people, vehicles, and animals. It can even recognize and classify faces and license plates. All these calculations take place locally, protecting your privacy and minimizing the load on your Network video recorder. You only receive the notifications that are truly important – and faster than ever before.
Built to Last: Robust Construction and Simple PoE+ Installation
The UVC-G6-Pro-Turret is designed as one of the best `IP Cameras` for demanding use. The robust aluminum alloy housing is IP66 dustproof and protected against strong water jets. The IK04 impact resistance also offers protection against minor sabotage attempts. Installation is incredibly simple thanks to Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+): a single Ethernet Cable, connected to a compatible `UniFi Switch` or one of our `PoE Injectors / Power Supplies`, powers the camera and integrates it into the `Network`. This is how easy professional security can be, perfectly integrated into the `UniFi Protect` ecosystem.
Strengths & Notes at a Glance
- Pro: Excellent image quality in low light conditions due to huge 1/1.2' sensor.
- Pro: Powerful on-device AI for precise person, vehicle, and license plate recognition.
- Pro: High flexibility after mounting due to lossless 2.36x optical zoom.
- Pro: Robust, weather-resistant (IP66) construction and easy installation via a single PoE+ cable.
- Note: Works exclusively with UniFi Protect software and is not compatible with third-party NVR systems (e.g., via ONVIF).
- Note: Absolutely requires a PoE+ (802.3at) capable Network connection, as standard PoE (802.3af) is not sufficient.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Does the Ubiquiti G6 PRO Turret require a cloud account or a subscription?
No. The camera is managed entirely locally via a UniFi Protect console (e.g., UniFi Dream Machine Pro, UNVR). All recordings and AI analyses take place on your own hardware. There are no monthly fees or subscriptions for using the camera and its features, making it a cost-effective part of your Network.
Can the G6 PRO Turret also be operated without a UniFi NVR?
No, a running instance of the UniFi Protect software is absolutely necessary for full functionality. Although the camera has a MicroSD card slot for "Edge Storage", this primarily serves as a backup in case of a Network interruption to the NVR and not as a full-fledged standalone operation for your UniFi Protect system.
What is the difference between the G6 PRO Turret and the regular G6 Turret?
The G6 PRO Turret has a significantly larger image sensor (1/1.2" vs. 1/1.8"), leading to better low-light performance. Additionally, the PRO version features a 2.36x optical zoom and requires PoE+, while the regular G6 Turret has a fixed focal length and works with standard PoE. This difference in power requirements relates to PoE Injectors / Power Supplies.
Is the IP Camera suitable for mounting in unprotected, public places?
Conditionally. It is IP66 weatherproof but only has an IK04 impact resistance rating. This protects it from light impacts, but not from targeted, heavy vandalism. For highly vulnerable areas, an IP Camera with an IK10 rating would be more suitable, especially when considering various Mounting Systems.
How good is license plate recognition in practice?
Thanks to 4K resolution and the dedicated AI engine, license plate recognition is very effective, especially when the optical zoom is used to focus the surveillance area on a lane or driveway. However, performance depends on factors such as lighting conditions, distance, and the angle to the IP Camera. This feature enhances the capabilities of Other Cameras in surveillance.
What does "NDAA Compliant" mean?
NDAA compliance means that the product meets the guidelines of the US "National Defense Authorization Act". This certifies that the IP Camera does not contain components from certain Chinese manufacturers deemed a security risk, which qualifies it for use in government facilities and security-critical enterprise environments, ensuring compliance for various Other Cameras as well.
