Central Management Made Easy: The Omada SDN System
The EAP225 is more than just an Access Point – it is part of the intelligent TP-Link Omada Software Defined Networking (SDN) ecosystem. This means for you: You can manage this and hundreds of other WiFi Access Points, Switches, and Routers via a single, intuitive interface. Whether via the free software on your PC, a dedicated hardware controller (OC200/OC300), or conveniently from the cloud – you always have full control. Set up new devices via Zero-Touch Provisioning, monitor the Network status in real-time, and deploy updates centrally. This makes managing even complex Networks child's play.
Stable Performance for Your Business: MU-MIMO & Beamforming
In busy environments with many smartphones, laptops, and tablets, stable performance is crucial. The EAP225 uses Wave 2 802.11ac MU-MIMO technology to communicate with multiple devices simultaneously. This reduces waiting times and significantly increases the overall throughput of your Network. Additionally, Beamforming focuses the WiFi signal specifically towards connected clients, while Band Steering ensures that dual-band-capable devices automatically use the faster 5 GHz band. The result is an Access Point with central management that delivers a reliable and fast connection even under load.
Flexible Installation: PoE Power Supply for Every Location
Wherever you need perfect WiFi coverage – the EAP225 can be installed effortlessly. Thanks to support for Power over Ethernet (PoE), the device is supplied with data and power via a single Network Cable. What's special: The EAP225 is compatible with both the 802.3af/at PoE standard and 24V Passive PoE. In case you don't have a PoE Switch, a suitable passive PoE Injector / Power Supply is already included in the scope of delivery. The elegant design allows for discreet ceiling or wall mounting.
Secure Guest WiFi and Professional Network Segmentation
Offer your customers and guests secure and professional internet access without endangering your internal Network. With the EAP225, you can create up to 16 different SSIDs and cleanly separate them using VLAN tagging. Set up a Captive Portal (login page) through which guests can authenticate via voucher, SMS, or social media login. Client isolation prevents devices in the guest Network from seeing each other, which further increases security. This creates a professional and secure WiFi solution for hotels and restaurants.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Can the TP-Link EAP225 be used as a repeater?
Yes, the EAP225 supports 'Omada Mesh' technology. This allows it to wirelessly connect to another wired Omada WiFi Access Point, extending the WiFi signal without its own LAN cable. For setting up and managing the mesh function, the Omada Controller must be continuously active.
Is a PoE Switch absolutely necessary for the operation of the EAP225?
No. The EAP225 comes with its own passive PoE Injector. This powers the Access Point via the Ethernet Cable. Alternatively, it can also be operated directly on a PoE Switch that supports the 802.3af standard.
What is the difference between the EAP225 and the EAP225-Outdoor?
Do I absolutely need an Omada Controller for the EAP225?
No, the Access Point can also be configured in standalone mode via its own web interface. However, central management functions such as seamless roaming and mesh functionality are then omitted. The full potential is only realized with the Omada Controller.
Does the EAP225 support VLANs and a guest WiFi?
Yes, the EAP225 offers comprehensive support for VLANs by being able to assign different SSIDs to different VLANs. In addition, a secure guest network with a Captive Portal (login page) and client isolation can be set up to separate guests from the internal network.
How many devices can connect to the EAP225?
The manufacturer states a capacity of over 200 simultaneous clients. Thanks to MU-MIMO technology, the Access Point can communicate efficiently with multiple devices simultaneously, which improves performance in high-density environments.
