The upgrade for high-performance networks: LWO-SFP28-LR-BT SFP28 Transceiver (25G, 10km). When 10G is no longer enough, 25 Gigabit Ethernet (25GbE) is the logical next step. This module offers 2.5 times the speed of an SFP+ module in the same compact form factor. It transmits on the 1310nm wavelength over Single Mode fiber (OS2) and reaches distances of up to 10km. The module is ideal for modern data center spines, 5G mobile backhaul, or high-performance campus connections. Thanks to its extended temperature range ("Broad Temp"), it is extremely robust and MSA compliant.

LWO-SFP28-LR-BT: 25 Gigabit – The New Standard

For a long time, 10G was the benchmark. But with Wi-Fi 6, 5G, and flash storage, uplinks are becoming bottlenecks. The LWO-SFP28-LR-BT brings you 25 Gbps bandwidth – and the best part: You don't have to change your cabling.

Why SFP28?

The SFP28 form factor is mechanically identical to the widely used SFP+. This means:

  • You continue to use your standard LC Duplex Single Mode cables (OS2).
  • You get 2.5x the speed per port compared to 10G.
  • It is significantly more efficient and cheaper than jumping to 40G (QSFP), as only one fiber pair is needed.

Applications: From Data Center to 5G

This "LR" (Long Range) module operates at 1310nm and bridges up to 10 kilometers.
The suffix BT (Broad Temperature / Industrial Grade) indicates that this module is designed to be particularly robust. It is predestined for:

  • 5G Fronthaul: Connecting mobile masts.
  • ISP Aggregation: Distribution in non-air-conditioned street cabinets (PoP).
  • Data Center: Connecting Top-of-Rack switches and Core routers.

Technical Reliability

The module supports Forward Error Correction (FEC) to automatically correct data transmission errors at these high speeds. It is MSA compliant and works in SFP28 slots from common manufacturers (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Huawei, Dell, MikroTik). Of course, DDM monitoring is also on board.
