10 Meter CNT-400: Distance Requires Quality
With Antenna Cables, the rule applies: Double the length means double the attenuation. A distance of 10 meters is a real challenge for high-frequency signals (Wi-Fi/LoRa). Anyone who skimps here and uses thin cables will end up with no reception, no matter how good the antenna is.
The CNT-400 is built for exactly these distances. With its large diameter (10mm) and special shielding, it ensures that a strong signal still arrives even after 10 meters. It is the technical reference class, comparable to the well-known LMR-400.
The Key to Maximum Helium Witnesses
For Helium miners (Bobcat 300, SenseCAP M1, etc.), "Line of Sight" is everything. The antenna must be as high as possible, ideally on the roof.
* Miner in the House, Antenna on the Roof: With 10 meters of cable, you can leave the sensitive miner in the dry (attic/room) and only expose the antenna to the weather.
* Low Loss: Despite the great length, the cable loses only approx. 1.3 dB in the LoRa range (868 MHz). A thin RG58 cable would lose over 5 dB here – that would be more than half of your transmission power!
Wi-Fi Over Long Distances
This cable is also ideal for Wi-Fi links, for example, to mount a directional antenna high up on the gable and thus supply the property or an outbuilding. The RP-SMA connector fits directly to most Wi-Fi routers with detachable Antennas.
Important Installation Note
A 10-meter long CNT-400 cable is a massive component. It weighs over 1 kg and is rigid due to the solid inner conductor.
Please note:
1. Plan for generous bending radii.
2. Secure the cable well with cable ties or clamps during vertical routing (on the mast) to ensure strain relief on the connectors.
