Gigabit Over the Air: Your Network Connection Between Buildings
Imagine you could connect two buildings as easily as laying a long Ethernet Cable – but without the cable. That's exactly what the Ubiquiti UniFi UBB-EU Building-to-Building Bridge does. This set of two perfectly matched radio modules creates an extremely fast and stable point-to-point connection over a distance of up to 500 meters. With a data throughput of over 1.7 Gbit/s in the 60 GHz band, you can transfer huge amounts of data, stream high-resolution videos, or connect your company Network across the yard without performance loss. The UBB acts completely transparently in the Network, unlike a Router, and effortlessly extends your LAN.
Seamless UniFi Integration: Setup Made Easy
Forget complicated configurations. The biggest advantage of the UBB-EU is its incredibly easy integration into the UniFi ecosystem. The two units are already pre-paired at the factory. You mount them, connect them, and 'adopt' them with a few clicks in your UniFi Network Application – for example, on your UniFi Dream Machine. The system does the rest itself. An integrated LED ring and an alignment tool in the software help you perfectly align the modules for maximum signal strength. Setting up a professional WiFi Bridge Set has never been so easy.
Maximum Reliability Thanks to 5 GHz Failover
What happens during extremely heavy rain or dense fog? While other 60 GHz systems reach their limits here, the UniFi UBB plays to its strengths. It features a second, independent radio unit in the robust 5 GHz band. Should the primary connection be impaired by extreme weather ('Rain Fade'), the system automatically and uninterruptedly switches to the 5 GHz connection. While this is slower, it ensures the stability of your Network. As soon as conditions allow, the Bridge automatically switches back to full Gigabit speed. This is the Ubiquiti UBB Weather Resistance you can rely on.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How are the two units of the UniFi Building-Bridge powered?
Each of the two units is powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE). They support both the 802.3af PoE standard and passive 48V PoE. Two suitable Gigabit PoE Injectors are included in the scope of delivery, so no separate PoE Switch or Ethernet Switch is required for your Network setup.
Is a complicated configuration of the wireless connection necessary for the Ubiquiti UBB?
No, the two wireless modules included in the set are already pre-paired at the factory. After installation, they only need to be 'adopted' into the UniFi Network Controller. The wireless connection will then be established automatically. Fine-tuning the alignment is facilitated by an LED ring on the devices, making it easier to set up your Network.
What happens if an obstacle blocks the line of sight or if it rains very heavily?
The UBB features an automatic failover function. The primary, very fast 60 GHz Components connection is sensitive to obstacles and heavy rain. If this connection is interrupted, the system automatically switches to a secondary 5 GHz Components wireless connection. While slower, this connection is significantly more robust against weather influences, thus ensuring the maintenance of the Network connection.
Can I use the UniFi UBB over a greater distance than 500 meters?
The manufacturer's specified maximum range is 500 meters. Stable operation beyond this distance is not guaranteed. Signal quality, especially in the 60 GHz Components band, rapidly decreases with distance. For longer distances, Ubiquiti Networks offers other products, such as those from the airFiber or GigaBeam-LR series.
Do I need special software to manage the UBB?
Yes, the UBB is managed exclusively via the UniFi Network Application (formerly UniFi Controller). This software can be run on its own server, a UniFi Cloud Key, a UniFi Dream Machine (UDM), or with a cloud hoster. Direct access via a web interface to the devices themselves is not provided, ensuring centralized control over your Network.
How do I align the two bridges for optimal signal strength?
The UBB devices feature an integrated LED ring that serves as a visual alignment aid. Additionally, the UniFi Network Application offers an 'Alignment Tool' that displays precise signal values. For mounting, a ball joint helps to precisely align the devices, which is crucial for optimal WiFi Bridge Sets performance and overall Network stability.
