Can I replace the hard drive in the Cloud Key Gen2 Plus myself?

What is the main difference between the Cloud Key Gen2 and the Gen2 Plus?
The main difference is that the Gen2 Plus (UCK-G2-PLUS) additionally runs UniFi Protect software for IP Cameras management and has an integrated 1TB hard drive for this purpose. The standard model (UCK-G2) has no hard drive and is only intended for managing UniFi Network devices, including UniFi Access Points and UniFi Switch.
Does the Cloud Key always have to be running for my WiFi to work?
No. After the Network is configured, the UniFi Access Points and UniFi Switch will function even without a running controller. However, the Cloud Key is needed for monitoring, collecting statistics, managing guest WiFi Routers, and for configuration changes. For UniFi Protect, it must run continuously to store UniFi Video recordings.
Can I migrate from my old UniFi Controller to the Cloud Key Gen2 Plus?
Yes, that is possible. You can create a backup of your existing UniFi Network Controller configuration and restore it on the new Cloud Key Gen2 Plus. This will transfer all your Ubiquiti Networks devices and settings, streamlining your Network management.
