Ubiquiti UACC-OM-SM-10G-S-2: 10G Turbo on a Budget
Normally, a 10 Gigabit fiber connection requires two strands (duplex). But fibers are often scarce, or leasing a second strand is expensive.
With this BiDi Set (Bidirectional), you bypass that problem. You get full 10G performance but physically occupy only a single fiber.
Blue Meets Red (1270 nm / 1330 nm)
Unlike the 1G modules (Blue/Yellow), this 10G set works with the pair Blue and Red.
The technology behind it is WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing):
* Module Blue: Transmits at 1270 nm, receives at 1330 nm.
* Module Red: Transmits at 1330 nm, receives at 1270 nm.
The result: Traffic flow in both directions on one lane, without collisions.
10 Kilometers Range
This set is not only fast but also enduring. It bridges distances of up to 10 kilometers. This makes it the first choice for connecting server rooms in different buildings, for campus networks, or as a high-performance uplink for ISP distribution.
