Compact sector solution for 3-cluster towers. The Ubiquiti airMAX Sector AM-5G16-120 is a 2x2 MIMO sector antenna for the 5 GHz frequency band. With 16 dBi gain and 120-degree horizontal coverage, it is the ideal building block for cost-effective WISP base stations. Thanks to its compact design (only 37 cm length), it offers low wind load and is visually unobtrusive. The vertical beamwidth of 8 degrees – double that of the larger models – ensures excellent coverage in the short and medium range, especially in uneven terrain. The Ubiquiti Rocket M5 or 5AC simply clicks onto the back – no special cables or tools required.

Ubiquiti AM-5G16-120: The Flexible Entry

Large antennas with high gain are great for long distances, but they have a downside: their beam is extremely flat ("thin"). If you are standing on a hill and want to serve customers in the valley, you often shoot right over them with a large antenna.
This is where the AM-5G16-120 is the better choice.

Why Less is Sometimes More

This antenna has "only" 16 dBi gain, but opens vertically to 8 degrees (instead of 4 degrees on the 19 dBi version).
This makes alignment much easier. You cover a larger height range, which is ideal for: * Towers that are not extremely high. * Hilly terrain. * Shorter distances where maximum signal strength is not the main issue.

3-Sector Design

Since it covers 120 degrees horizontally, you need exactly three of these antennas (and three Rocket Radios) to offer all-around service (360°). This is the gold standard for professional WISP installations, as you distribute the load across three radios.

Seamless Integration

The housing is robust, UV-stable, and weatherproof. The Rocket M5 or Rocket 5AC clips onto the back. The connection cables disappear under a protective cover.
