Intelligent Power Distribution for your 19-Inch Racks
No more manual restarts and unreliable operation. The tinycontrol tcPDU is a professional, Network-enabled power strip that gives you full control over the Power Supply of your devices in the server cabinet. Switch or restart individual ports conveniently via the web interface, no matter where you are. Thanks to the programmable start delay after a power outage, you avoid dangerous load peaks and protect your sensitive hardware. The tcPDU is the perfect addition for all professional 19-Inch Racks.
The IP-Watchdog: Your Automatic Problem Solver
A frozen server or an unreachable Ethernet Switch in the middle of the night? No problem. The powerful IP-Watchdog function of the tcPDU permanently monitors up to five critical devices in your Network. As soon as a device no longer responds to a ping, the automatic system kicks in: the PDU performs a predefined power cycle on the corresponding outlet and hard reboots the device. You define the delays and the number of attempts – the tcPDU reliably handles the rest.
Comprehensive Monitoring: Energy, Temperature, and More
The tcPDU is more than just a switchable power strip – it is a central monitoring unit for your rack. The integrated energy meter provides you with precise data on the total consumption of your connected technology. Record voltage, current, active and reactive power in real-time. But that's not all: you can connect external sensors via the sensor interfaces. Monitor the temperature in the cabinet with up to eight DS18B20 sensors or check with reed contacts whether the cabinet door is open. All values are accessible via the Network and can trigger actions.
Seamless Integration thanks to SNMP, MQTT, and HTTP API
No matter which management software you use, the tcPDU integrates seamlessly into your existing Network. Thanks to the support of SNMP v2 and v3 (including Traps), you can easily integrate the PDU into professional monitoring systems such as Zabbix, Nagios, or PRTG. For IoT and Smart Home applications, an MQTT client with TLS encryption is available, which can even connect to the manufacturer's free server. The PDU can also be easily integrated into your own scripts and automation solutions via the simple HTTP API.
Strengths & Notes at a Glance

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Can the tinycontrol tcPDU measure power consumption per outlet?
No, the tcPDU measures the total power consumption of all connected devices combined. It does not offer separate measurement for each of the seven individual outlets.
How can I automatically restart an unresponsive device in the rack?
For this, you use the integrated Watchdog function. You configure the PDU to monitor the IP address of the device (e.g., a server or an Ethernet Switch). If the device does not respond to pings, the PDU briefly switches the corresponding outlet off and on again to force a restart within your 19-Inch Racks.
Do I need special software to control the PDU?
No, the basic configuration and control are done via an integrated web server, which you can access with any standard web browser. For integration into other Network systems, standard protocols like SNMP and MQTT are supported.
Can the PDU warn me if the temperature in the server cabinet gets too high?
Yes, this is a core function. You need to connect a compatible temperature sensor (e.g., DS18B20) to the PDU. In the event system, you can then create a rule that sends an email notification when a threshold is exceeded or even activates an outlet for an additional fan in your Enclosures or 19-Inch Racks.
What is the standard IP address of the tcPDU and how do I find it on the Network?
The factory-set static IP address is 192.168.1.130. If your computer is in a different subnet, you will need to temporarily adjust it. Alternatively, the manufacturer offers the "LKTools" utility, which includes a discovery function for finding tinycontrol devices on the Network.
What types of sensors can I directly connect to the tcPDU?
You can connect digital temperature sensors (DS18B20), combined temperature/humidity sensors (AM2301B), as well as simple 2-state sensors such as door contacts (reed switches) or sensors for detecting mains voltage. These are useful Accessories for monitoring your Network environment.
