The SCABOX 685.011 by SCAME is not just a DIY box, but designed for professional electrical engineering. This is evident primarily in the material: The thermoplastic used is extremely resistant to impact and weather, yet halogen-free. This means no toxic gases are released in the event of a fire – a requirement for installations in many public areas.
Smart Design
Technicians love this enclosure for two features:
1. Captive Screws: The lid screws stay attached to the lid when opened. No more searching for screws in the gravel or tall grass.
2. Quick Release: A short turn (90°) is all it takes to open or seal the enclosure watertight. This saves time during maintenance.
Endless Space
With a depth of 13 cm and massive external dimensions, you can fit things here that fail elsewhere: Large PoE switches, battery packs for solar applications, or extensive controls with DIN rails. The side walls offer space for up to 14 PG36 cable glands (for very thick cables).
