LWO-SFPP-LR: The Backbone of Your Network
While SR modules are used for short distances in the server room, the LWO-SFPP-LR (Long Range) is the standard as soon as the signal leaves the building or needs to bridge longer campus distances.
It operates on the robust wavelength of 1310 nm. This wavelength offers very low attenuation on Single Mode fibers, enabling stable connections over up to 10 kilometers.
Classic Duplex Connection
Unlike WDM/BiDi modules, this transceiver requires two fiber strands (Duplex):
- Fiber 1: Transmit (TX)
- Fiber 2: Receive (RX)
The connection is made via the widely used LC Duplex connector (usually color-coded blue). This makes this module the universal choice for existing infrastructures where enough fibers are available and no special technology (WDM) is needed.
Reliability and Monitoring
The transceiver is hot-swappable and features DDM (Digital Diagnostic Monitoring). This allows administrators to monitor critical values such as temperature, voltage, laser bias current, and transmit/receive power in real-time. The module is MSA compliant and works Plug-and-Play in switches from Cisco, Juniper, HP/Aruba, Ubiquiti, MikroTik, and many more (please check for manufacturer coding or use open switches).
