Do you absolutely need CAT6 cables for this CAT6 patch panel?
Absolutely! To unleash the full Gigabit power for your Network, the entire path must be consistent. So, from the patch panel to your Ethernet Outlets, use at least CAT6 quality for your Cabling. If you use older cables, you'll slow down your entire Network.
What does UTP mean, and is it a disadvantage for my home Network?
UTP stands for 'Unshielded Twisted Pair'. For your home or office Network, this is absolutely not a disadvantage; in fact, it's the standard. You only really need shielding (STP) in industrial environments with strong electrical interference sources.
What is the difference between T568A and T568B wiring?
These are simply two internationally standardized color codes for cable conductors. Technically, they are equivalent. The important thing is: choose one standard and consistently apply it throughout your entire Network – at the patch panel and at the outlets. This way, you avoid errors.
Can you plug your solid installation cable directly into the front of the panel?
