WiFi Range for Campers and Sailors
The ALFA Tube-UAC2 is the standard for "Digital Nomads" and travelers. The concept is brilliantly simple: Instead of a WiFi stick inside the laptop, which has no reception behind metal walls, you mount the Tube outside. It screws directly into the N-connector of an outdoor antenna (e.g., a large omnidirectional antenna on a boat roof).
No Signal Loss = Maximum Range
Conventional setups use a long antenna cable, which "swallows" the weak WiFi signal before it reaches the receiver. The Tube-UAC2 eliminates this cable. The signal is digitized directly at the antenna and transmitted losslessly via USB cable (5 meters) to the interior. The result is dramatically higher range.
Versatile Application
You can connect the Tube-UAC2 directly via USB to your laptop (Windows/Linux/Mac). Even more popular is the combination with the ALFA R36A Router: The Tube receives the external WiFi, and the R36A distributes it as your own private WiFi inside for all your devices (phones, tablets, TV).
