Your UniFi Network, only bigger: The U6 Extender
No more weak WiFi in the furthest corner. The UniFi U6 Extender was specially developed to expand your existing UniFi Network easily and without cables. Instead of breaking open walls or laying unsightly cable ducts, you simply plug this powerful WiFi Repeater into a free outlet. Within minutes, it is adopted via the UniFi App and extends your WiFi signal exactly where you need it. Ideal for multi-story houses, winding apartments, or offices where retrofitting Cabling is not an option.
Wi-Fi 6 Power directly from the outlet
Don't be fooled by its compact design. Inside the U6 Extender, state-of-the-art Wi-Fi 6 technology is at work. With a 4x4 MU-MIMO and OFDMA configuration on the fast 5 GHz band, it achieves theoretical data rates of up to 4.8 Gbps. For you, this means: smooth 4K streaming, lag-free online gaming, and fast downloads for a variety of devices simultaneously. The internal Antennas are optimized with a gain of up to 6 dBi for maximum performance and broad, reliable coverage, even for demanding environments with over 300 clients.
Seamless Integration and Central Management
The biggest advantage of the U6 Extender lies in its perfect integration into the UniFi ecosystem. It is more than just a simple booster; it becomes a full-fledged part of your Network. This means that your client devices seamlessly switch between your UniFi Access Points and the Extender thanks to Fast Roaming (802.11k/v/r) without losing connection. All settings, updates, and performance monitoring are centrally managed as usual – directly via your UniFi Network Application. This way, you always maintain full control over your entire network.
Who is the UniFi U6 Extender the perfect choice for?
The U6 Extender is the ideal convenient solution for any UniFi user who wants to quickly and easily eliminate WiFi dead zones. It is perfect for extending coverage to the patio, basement, or attic. However, if you need absolute top performance and maximum stability for critical applications, a wired Access Point remains the first choice. The U6 Extender is the smart alternative when a cable is not an option, and you still don't want to do without the power and convenience of the UniFi system.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Can I use the UniFi U6 Extender alone?
No, that is not possible. You absolutely need an existing UniFi Network with a UniFi Network Controller and at least one primary, wired UniFi Access Point that the Extender can wirelessly connect to.
Does the U6 Extender have a LAN port?
No, the U6 Extender does not have an Ethernet/LAN port. The connection to the Network (uplink) is exclusively wireless. You also cannot connect an end device via Ethernet Cables to the Extender.
How do I set up the U6 Extender?
Setup is done by plugging it into a power outlet within range of an existing UniFi Access Point. The Extender is then "adopted" (added to the Network) via Bluetooth using the UniFi Network App (mobile or web).
How fast is the U6 Extender in practice?
The real-world speed heavily depends on the signal quality and distance to the main UniFi Access Point. Since the radio bands are used for both the connection to the WiFi Router and the connection to end devices, the practical speed is usually significantly lower than the theoretical maximum rate of 4.8 Gbps.
Is the U6 Extender better than a wired UniFi AP?
In terms of pure performance and stability, a wired UniFi Access Point is always superior. The U6 Extender is a convenience solution to fill WiFi dead zones in locations where Cabling is not possible or desired.
Does the Extender block the entire power outlet?
The design is relatively compact, but depending on the shape of the double power outlet, the second slot may be affected. The EU version is deeper than the US version due to the plug type.
