Ubiquiti USW-Flex: One Cable In, Four Devices Out
Anyone installing cameras or WiFi outdoors knows the problem: You don't want to drill four network cables through the house wall.
The USW-Flex is the solution. You run just a single cable outside to the switch. From there, you distribute data and power to up to four additional devices.
Weatherproof and Robust
Unlike normal switches, this one doesn't need an extra enclosure. The housing is built to withstand rain (water jets) and dust (IP55). It can also be magnetically attached in drop ceilings or utility boxes.
The Power Formula (Important!)
This switch is only as strong as its power source. To power cameras and APs, it must be "fed" properly itself. The power budget is tiered as follows:
* Input PoE++ (802.3bt / 60W): The switch passes 46 Watts. (Enough for 3-4 cameras or 2 strong APs).
* Input PoE+ (802.3at / 30W): The switch passes 20 Watts. (Enough for 2 small cameras).
* Input PoE (802.3af / 15W): The switch passes 8 Watts. (Too little for passthrough, essentially only powers the switch).
Tip: In the UniFi Controller, the power source often needs to be manually set if using an injector!
