The ES-48-500W delivers exactly that.
10G SFP+ for the Backbone
The most important upgrade over the smaller 24-port model is the inclusion of two SFP+ ports.
Here you can insert fiber modules with 10 Gbps speeds. This is crucial when 48 users are accessing the file server or performing backups simultaneously. The uplink bottleneck is history. Additionally, there are two standard 1G SFP ports available.
Power for Everything (500 Watts)
With a 500 Watt PoE budget, you can confidently populate almost all 48 ports with devices.
As usual with the EdgeMAX series, you have maximum flexibility:
* Standard PoE+ (802.3at/af): For Cisco phones, Axis cameras, and UniFi APs.
* 24V Passive PoE: For Ubiquiti airMAX antennas or legacy components.
All of this is configured conveniently via the Web Interface or, if you are a pro, via CLI (Command Line Interface).
Layer 3 Routing
This switch is intelligent. It can route traffic between different VLANs (e.g., Guest, Accounting, Tech) itself, without every data packet having to go to the router and back. This unburdens your gateway and makes the internal network blazing fast.
