The Tracker in the Footwell (OBD2)
Time is money, especially when you need to equip an entire fleet of delivery vans or rental cars with telematics. The Teltonika FMB010 makes workshop visits obsolete. It is simply plugged into the standardized OBD-II socket, which is located in the footwell or under the steering wheel of almost all modern cars. The device sits there unobtrusively, is powered directly by the vehicle, and transmits location data via the 2G (GSM) Network to your server.
Bluetooth LE for External Sensors
Location tracking is just the beginning. Thanks to the integrated Bluetooth 4.0 LE module, the FMB010 becomes a true communication center. Are you transporting medication or food? Simply connect a wireless Bluetooth temperature sensor placed in the cargo area to the tracker! Using BLE beacons for tool tracking? The FMB010 reads them as it drives by and sends the data directly to the cloud.
Clever Protection Against Tampering
Insurance companies and fleet managers love this device for its clever security features. Utilizing the built-in accelerometer, the tracker registers crash situations or unauthorized towing. Should an employee or a thief get the idea to simply pull the tracker out of the OBD socket, the internal 170 mAh backup battery immediately kicks in. The device promptly sends an "unplugged" alarm including the last GPS coordinates!
