3m DAC: Bridging Rack Boundaries
Often devices need to be connected that are far apart: The heavy storage server sits at the very bottom of the rack (U1) for stability reasons, but the switch is at the very top (U42). Or you want to connect two server cabinets standing side by side.
The 3 meter DAC cable is built for exactly these scenarios. It is the cost-efficient alternative to optical transceivers.
Why Copper Instead of Fiber?
Up to a length of 3 meters, a high-quality Twinax copper cable is often the smarter technical choice than fiber optics. It is more robust, consumes less power, and has lower latency. Only at distances exceeding 3-5 meters does fiber become necessary. With this cable, you get the maximum out of affordable copper technology.
