Stable WiFi Bridge over Kilometers
The Ubiquiti PowerBeam 5AC Gen2 is your first choice when you need to build a reliable Building-to-Building WiFi Bridge. Whether you want to extend your corporate Network to a neighboring office building or bring a fast internet connection to a remote part of your property – this device delivers the necessary performance. Thanks to the high Antenna Gain of 25 dBi and advanced airMAX ac Technology, you can bridge distances of up to 25 km with an impressive data throughput of over 450 Mbps. The extremely directional Antenna ensures superior interference immunity by simply blocking out lateral radio signals. The result is a rock-solid connection you can rely on.
Thoughtful Design for Maximum Performance
Ubiquiti has thought of everything with the PowerBeam 5AC Gen2. The innovative InnerFeed® Technology integrates the radio unit directly into the Antenna's feedhorn. This ingenious move eliminates the need for RF cables and the associated signal losses. Thus, maximum transmission power reaches exactly where it is needed. The Enclosure is made of UV-stabilized plastic and powder-coated steel to withstand even the harshest weather conditions such as strong wind, rain, and extreme temperatures. This robust construction guarantees a long Service life and reliable outdoor operation.
Easy Setup: Management via App
Forget complicated configurations via laptop at the mast. The PowerBeam 5AC Gen2 features a separate 2.4 GHz management radio. This means you can easily connect to the device directly with your smartphone or tablet during installation. The intuitive UISP™ App allows you to set up, align, and monitor the Ubiquiti PowerBeam PBE-5AC-GEN2. This not only saves time but also makes the entire process significantly more convenient and efficient. This way, you can achieve perfect alignment for maximum performance of your Point-to-Point WiFi Bridge in no time.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Can I use the PowerBeam 5AC Gen2 as a regular WiFi Access Point for my home?
No, that is not its intended purpose. The PowerBeam generates an extremely narrow, directional signal beam, designed for bridging long distances to a single opposing point. It is unsuitable for covering a wide area like a garden or a house with a WiFi Network.
What is the difference between Point-to-Point (PtP) and Point-to-MultiPoint (PtMP)?
In PtP mode, two PowerBeam devices are directly aligned with each other to establish an exclusive Network connection between two locations (e.g., Building A with Building B). In PtMP mode, a central Antenna acts as a WiFi Access Point and serves multiple remote stations (clients). The PBE-5AC-GEN2 can be used in both scenarios, primarily as a powerful client (CPE) or as an AP in smaller PtMP networks, leveraging its 5 GHz Components.
Do I need one or two devices for a functional WiFi Bridge Set?
You always need two devices. A radio link consists of a transmitting and a receiving unit. Therefore, you must purchase two PowerBeam 5AC Gen2 (or a compatible airMAX ac Components device as the counterpart) to establish a connection between two points and create a robust Network bridge.
How is the PowerBeam 5AC Gen2 powered?
Power is supplied via the included 24V Gigabit Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) Power Supply. A single Ethernet Cable leading from the PoE Injectors / Power Supplies adapter to the device provides both the data connection and power, which significantly simplifies installation and Cabling on a mast.
What does 'dedicated management radio' mean?
This is a second, built-in radio unit that broadcasts a temporary WiFi Network on the 2.4 GHz Components band. This allows you to connect directly to the PowerBeam with your smartphone during installation to configure it via the Ubiquiti-App, without needing to connect a laptop via cable, streamlining your Network setup.
Is the device weatherproof?
Yes, the PowerBeam 5AC Gen2 is specifically designed for outdoor use. The Enclosures are made of UV-stabilized plastic and powder-coated steel to withstand extreme temperatures, rain, wind, and UV radiation, ensuring reliable performance within your Network.
