Your Network Anchor: 5G Power and Extreme Failover Reliability
The Teltonika RUTM20 is not just a router – it's your insurance for a stable internet connection when it matters most. With lightning-fast 5G (up to 3.4 Gbps), two physical SIM slots, and an integrated eSIM, it offers 3-fold redundancy. If one Network fails, the router automatically and seamlessly switches to the next available connection. This makes it the perfect command center for critical infrastructures, mobile deployments, or as a primary internet source where other connections fail. You'll only find this kind of reliability in professional Teltonika 4G / 5G Routers.
One Cable for Everything: The 5G Router with PoE-Out
Reduce your Cabling effort to a minimum. The RUTM20 can not only be powered itself via PoE-In (Power over Ethernet), but it also outputs power. Its LAN port delivers up to 30 watts of power according to the 802.3af/at standard. This allows you to directly connect and power a PoE-enabled IP Camera, a VoIP phone, or another WiFi Access Point. A power outlet at the installation site becomes superfluous – ideal for clean and efficient installations.
Built for Extremes: Robustness That Convinces
Where consumer devices long give up, the RUTM20 is just getting started. Its compact, yet extremely durable aluminum housing with IP30 protection class can take a lot. The enormous operating temperature range of -40 °C to +75 °C guarantees reliable operation in unheated control cabinets, on construction sites, or in vehicles. Thanks to E-Mark certification, it is officially approved for installation in buses, trucks, or emergency vehicles and easily tolerates the typical voltage fluctuations found there.
Full Control with RutOS and RMS
The true strength of the router lies in its software. RutOS, based on OpenWrt, is a powerhouse for Network professionals. Configure complex firewall rules, use a huge selection of VPN protocols (from OpenVPN to WireGuard to IPsec) for secure connections, or integrate the router into your M2M environment via industrial protocols like Modbus. With the optional Teltonika Remote Management System (RMS), you can also centrally and securely manage entire fleets of Teltonika 4G / 5G Routers via the cloud – even if the devices do not have a public IP address.
Strengths & Notes at a Glance
- Pro: Extreme connectivity redundancy through Dual-SIM, eSIM, and WAN failover for maximum reliability.
- Pro: Highly flexible Power Supply via 9-50V DC or PoE-In, as well as the ability to power other devices via PoE-Out (30W).
- Pro: Extremely robust and compact industrial design with a wide temperature range (-40°C to 75°C) for demanding environments.
- Pro: Powerful RutOS with professional features such as extensive VPN support, firewall, and RMS compatibility.
- Note: The WiFi Router standard is Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), which is sufficient for most industrial applications but does not correspond to the latest state of the art.
- Note: With only two Ethernet ports, an additional Ethernet Switch is required for connecting multiple wired devices.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How do I set up the Teltonika RUTM20 for the first time?
Connect your computer via Ethernet Cables or the standard WiFi (SSID and password on the device label). Open a web browser and enter the IP address http://192.168.1.1. Log in with the username 'admin' and the password from the label. A setup wizard will then guide you through the basic configurations.
Can the RUTM20 directly power an IP Camera?
Yes, the RUTM20's LAN port supports the PoE-Out standard (802.3af/at) and can power a compatible device, such as a PoE-enabled IP Camera, with up to 30 watts of power. This enables a single-cable solution for data and power.
What do Dual-SIM and eSIM mean for the RUTM20?
The router features two physical SIM card slots and an integrated eSIM. This ensures maximum redundancy, as the router can automatically switch to another SIM card or eSIM profile in case of a connection failure.
Is the Teltonika RUTM20 suitable for use in vehicles?
Yes, absolutely. It has a wide input voltage range (9-50V DC), a robust, vibration-resistant housing, and E-Mark certification, which is required for installation in vehicles in Europe.
Do I need a public IP address for remote maintenance of the router?
No, not necessarily. Thanks to its compatibility with the Teltonika Remote Management System (RMS), you can securely access, configure, and monitor the router even if it doesn't have a public IP address.
Which antennas are included with the RUTM20?
The standard delivery includes four cellular antennas (SMA) and two Dual-Band WiFi Antennas (RP-SMA). For special requirements, higher-gain antennas can also be connected.
