Anyone trying to push network wires into a socket with a screwdriver risks loose contacts and damaged hardware. This LSA Professional Punch Down Tool (also known as an Impact Tool or Krone Tool) does it right. It is specifically designed for LSA-Plus technology, which is used in almost all Cat.5, Cat.6, and Cat.7 sockets.
The "Click-Clack" Principle
You place the colored wire over the slot and press the tool down. An audible "click" signals:
1. The wire has been pressed gas-tight into the insulation displacement connector.
2. The scissors have cut the excess wire flush.
