Poynting EPNT-7 (V1-02): When Failure is Not an Option
In heavy industry, open-pit mining, or on the high seas, conditions prevail that would destroy normal IT hardware in minutes. Vibration, salt spray, metal dust, and extreme temperature fluctuations are the enemy of electronics.
The A-EPNT-0007-V1-02 was developed exactly for this. It is not just an antenna, but a protective vault for your Access Point or Mesh Node.
The Physics Problem Solved: "Zero Loss"
The higher the Wi-Fi frequency, the more dramatic the signal loss in coaxial cables. Especially with modern Wi-Fi 6E (6 GHz), a 5-meter cable often destroys half the power.
The EPNT-7 circumvents this law of physics: Your Access Point sits directly inside the enclosure. The connection to the antenna elements is made via extremely short, high-quality pigtails (RP-SMA).
The Result: Full transmit power hits the air, and the received signal reaches the chip unbraked. This means more range and more stable data rates in the mesh.
Ready for Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7
While many industrial antennas stop at 5.8 GHz, the EPNT-7 goes further. It covers the frequency range up to 7200 MHz. This means your installation is already equipped today for the latest standards (Wi-Fi 6E and upcoming Wi-Fi 7) that use the 6 GHz band.
Intelligent Design for Pros
Poynting thought of the details that matter in practice: * Cooling: The base plate is made of powder-coated aluminum and acts as a passive heatsink for your installed hardware. * Mounting: The "shark fin" design prevents branches (in forestry) or cables (in mining) from snagging on the antenna and tearing it off. * Sealing: The cable entry is specially sealed to ensure IP69K – you can wash the housing with a high-pressure cleaner without worry.
V1-02: The Standard for Wi-Fi
This specific version comes with RP-SMA connectors. This is crucial because almost all industrial Wi-Fi modules and Access Points use this connector type (as opposed to SMA for cellular). You save yourself shaky adapters and additional points of failure.
