Your Advanced Home Network: Fiber Optic & Smart Home Perfectly Connected
You are a power user and your home demands a Network solution that makes no compromises? The MikroTik hAP ac is your ideal partner. It provides you with a fast and stable WiFi connection via Dual-Band (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) and supplies your wired devices with maximum speed via Gigabit Ethernet ports. Thanks to the integrated SFP port, you can even use a direct fiber optic connection – perfect for high-speed internet. The clever PoE-Out function on the fifth Ethernet port also allows you to power another RouterBOARD device, such as an additional Access Point for range extension, without a separate Power Supply. This keeps your home Network tidy and powerful.
Flexibility for Your Business: The Small Office Redefined
For your small office or home office, do you need more than just a simple WiFi Router? The MikroTik hAP ac offers you extensive routing, firewall, and VPN functions thanks to the powerful RouterOS, which go far beyond the capabilities of conventional consumer routers. This makes it the perfect choice if you need detailed network segmentation (VLANs), Quality of Service (QoS) for business-critical applications, or secure VPN connections. The USB port is a real plus: use it for a 3G/4G modem as a failover internet connection or for external storage to flexibly manage your data. A versatile MikroTik Router for the highest demands.
Central WiFi Management: Seamless Roaming with CAPsMAN
In larger environments such as restaurants, small hotels, or spacious apartments, seamless WiFi coverage is crucial. The MikroTik hAP ac can not only excel as a standalone Access Point but also be used as an integral part of a centrally managed WiFi system (CAPsMAN). This means for you: multiple Access Points can be centrally configured and managed to ensure an uninterrupted roaming experience. Your guests or employees benefit from a consistently strong connection without manual network selection.
RouterOS: The Control Center for Your Perfect Network
The MikroTik hAP ac runs with the extremely versatile RouterOS (License Level 4), an operating system that offers you countless configuration options. From simple home networks to complex VPN setups, detailed traffic management, and centralized WiFi management (CAPsMAN) – you have full control over your network. Discover the freedom to design your network exactly according to your needs and benefit from a stability and functional diversity that you will look for in vain in consumer devices. As a versatile MikroTik Router, it can also function as an Ethernet Switch or MikroTik Access Point and offers you the necessary power to master even demanding tasks.
Strengths & Notes at a Glance
- Pro: Comprehensive RouterOS functionality: Offers extremely detailed and powerful configuration for routing, firewall, VPN, QoS, and more, making it very attractive for network experts and prosumers.
- Pro: Versatile Connectivity: Equipped with 5 Gigabit Ethernet ports, an SFP port for fiber optic connection, a USB 2.0 port (for 3G/4G modem or external storage), and PoE-In/Out on the Ether5 port, which offers high flexibility in network integration and Power Supply.
- Pro: Strong Dual-Band WiFi (AC1750 with 3x3 MIMO): Supports 802.11ac on 5 GHz (up to 1300 Mbit/s) and 802.11b/g/n on 2.4 GHz (up to 450 Mbit/s) with Triple-Chain technology, enabling good coverage and high throughputs for a variety of devices.
- Note: High learning curve for RouterOS: The extensive configuration options of RouterOS can be overwhelming and complex for average home users without network knowledge.
- Note: CPU performance at very high throughput: Although the CPU with 720 MHz is sufficient for most applications, it can become a bottleneck at maximum WiFi speed (especially 1300 Mbit/s 5GHz) or when using many advanced RouterOS functions (e.g., VPN encryption), which can limit the actual throughput.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is the difference between MikroTik hAP ac and hAP ac²?
The hAP ac (RB962UiGS-5HacT2HnT) features a MIPSBE architecture with a QCA9558 single-core CPU (720 MHz), 128 MB RAM, and 3x3 MIMO on both bands (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz). The newer hAP ac² (RBD52G-5HacD2HnD-TC) has an ARM 32bit architecture with a quad-core IPQ-4018 CPU (488-896 MHz), also 128 MB RAM, but only 2x2 MIMO on both bands and no SFP or PoE-Out ports. So, you see, the hAP ac offers you more MIMO chains and special ports.
Can the MikroTik hAP ac be used as a simple WiFi Router for home?
Yes, you can easily use the hAP ac as a simple WiFi Router for your home. It's pre-configured by default, so you just need to connect the internet cable to port 1 and you can use your WiFi. However, we recommend setting up a secure password.
What type of PoE does the MikroTik hAP ac support?
Your MikroTik hAP ac supports passive PoE-In on the Ethernet1 port (11-57 V) and passive PoE-Out on the Ethernet5 port.
Does the MikroTik hAP ac have internal or external Antennas?
