Updated: May 17, 2026 | Reading time: approx. 6 minutes

There are several ways to configure LigoWave Access Points. Here, you will find a beginner-friendly method with suitable basic settings for a standard point-to-point WiFi bridge. This guide applies to all LigoWave DLB or DLB ac components.

1. Preparation and Finding the IP Address

Connect the LigoWave Access Points to the PoE port of the PoE injector, and connect the LAN port of the injector directly to your network switch or router.

Your router will automatically assign dynamic IP addresses to both devices. Use an IP scanner or your router’s interface to find these IP addresses.

2. Configuring the First Device (Access Point)

Enter the IP address of the first LigoWave device into your browser. Log in using admin for the username and admin01 for the password.

  • Select your country and accept the terms. Click on the gear icon.
  • Configure the device as an Access Point. (Please enable ATPC for 5GHz devices).
  • For 5GHz: Enable "Hide Indoor Channels" and deactivate channel 157.
  • Click on the network "LigoDLB": Adjust the SSID to your preference and enable "WPA2 Personal" encryption with a secure password.

Network Configuration

Select "Bridge Mode" and leave the "IP method" as "Dynamic". Click Save changes to apply.

3. Configuring the Second Device (Station)

Now access the IP address of the second LigoWave device and log in.

  • Under "Wireless Configuration", set the mode to Station (enable ATPC for 5GHz again).
  • Enter exactly the same SSID and WPA2 password you used on the first device.
  • Complete the network configuration with "Bridge Mode" and "Dynamic IP Method". Save everything with Save changes.

4. Verify the Connection

If the devices are within range of each other, they should connect within 2–5 minutes. In the web interface, you can check the signal strength in dBm. The closer this value is to 0 (e.g., -60dBm), the better the signal.

FAQ: LigoWave PtP Bridge

Why aren’t the two LigoWave devices connecting?

Always double-check that the SSID and the WPA2 password are exactly the same on both devices. For 5 GHz devices, ATPC must also be enabled on both ends.

What is the maximum range of a LigoWave bridge?

This strongly depends on the chosen model. With dedicated directional components and a clear line of sight, you can easily bridge distances of several kilometers.
