Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Does the Botslab G500H Pro require a permanent internet connection?
No. The dashcam does not require an internet connection to operate. The integrated WiFi is exclusively used to establish a direct connection between the camera and your smartphone to view recordings or change settings via the Botslab app.
What is the advantage of a supercapacitor over a battery?
A supercapacitor is significantly more resistant to high and low temperatures, such as those that can occur in a parked car. It offers a longer lifespan and a lower risk of overheating or swelling compared to conventional lithium-ion batteries.
Does the camera also record audio inside the vehicle?
Yes, the Botslab G500H Pro has an integrated microphone and records audio by default. However, this function can be deactivated via the camera's settings menu or the app if audio recording is not desired.
What happens when the memory card is full?
The dashcam uses the loop recording function. This means that as soon as the MicroSD card is full, the oldest, unprotected video files are automatically overwritten by the newest recordings. Important events marked by the G-sensor (emergency recordings) are locked and not overwritten.
Are ADAS warnings (Driver Assistance System) always reliable?
ADAS functions are designed as aids, and their accuracy depends on correct calibration as well as good visibility and weather conditions. They can support the driver but do not replace the driver's full attention and judgment.
Can the rear camera also be mounted inside the vehicle?
Yes. Although the rear camera is waterproof and designed for outdoor mounting, it can also be easily attached to the rear window inside. The cable length is usually sufficient for most vehicle types.
