Huawei B660 & B683 Router: Initial Configuration Guide

Here is a standard guide for the initial configuration of the Huawei B660 and B683 routers.


1. Login and PIN Entry

Connect the device to your PC using an Ethernet cable. Open a browser and enter the IP address 192.168.1.1. The username and password are both admin.

If your SIM card has a PIN lock, you will be prompted to enter it now. After entering it correctly, click Continue.


2. Quick Setup and APN Settings

Click on Settings in the menu to start the Quick Setup. Click Next>.

Now, enter your provider’s details (APN, Username, Password). For APN, select Static. Set the IP Address to Dynamic and the Connection Mode to Auto. Click Next>.


3. WiFi Settings (SSID & Password)

Choose the network name (SSID) for your WiFi. Click Next>.

In the next step, select the encryption type (WPA2 is highly recommended) and enter a password of at least 8 characters under WPA Pre-shared Key.

Finish the configuration by clicking Finish.
