The Invisible Cable Across the Yard
Do you want to connect the office in the neighboring building, but digging a trench for a fiber optic cable would be way too expensive? The MikroTik Wireless Wire is the solution. The kit consists of two compact, weatherproof wAP60G routers. They build a highly secure AES-encrypted wireless bridge over up to 200 meters. The operating system (RouterOS) processes the connection so transparently that to your switch or PC, it looks exactly as if you had just plugged in a real, 100-meter-long copper cable!
60 GHz: No Interference, Pure Performance
If you try to set up a wireless bridge in the city on the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz band, you often fail due to hundreds of other Wi-Fi networks interfering with the same channel. The Wireless Wire elegantly bypasses this problem by using the 802.11ad standard in the 60 GHz band. This frequency is not used by regular routers and does not penetrate solid walls, meaning you have the radio channel entirely to yourself. The result: Brutal, extremely low-latency Gigabit performance.
True Plug & Play Out of the Box
You don't have to be an IT professional to set it up. MikroTik has already perfectly aligned and paired the two devices at the factory. All you have to do is power the devices (conveniently via Gigabit PoE) and roughly point them at each other. Integrated LEDs on the back of the devices help you fine-tune until the connection is perfect. Extensive mounting accessories for the wall, the mast, or even a table stand (for operation behind a window) are already included.
