Safety for Your Outdoor Installation
Anyone mounting antennas on the roof or mast exposes their technology to risk. Lightning strikes in the vicinity induce high voltages in the cables. The LP-60-13-02 Lightning Arrestor prevents this energy from reaching your router.
How It Works
Inside is a gas discharge tube. In normal operation, it allows radio signals to pass through unimpeded. However, as soon as the voltage exceeds a critical value (breakdown voltage), the gas becomes conductive and diverts the current via the housing and the grounding cable.
Installation
The adapter has an N-Male plug on one side and an N-Female jack on the other. It can therefore be screwed directly onto many antennas or access points.
Important: The lightning protector is useless without grounding! Be sure to connect the grounding screw to the potential equalization bar or the building's lightning protection system using a thick copper wire (min. 6mm²).
